What is Pilates?

At Breathe we believe first and foremost that Pilates is (and should be) fun!  It is also an accessible way to build strength in your core muscles for better posture, balance, range of motion, and flexibility. The Pilates method is based on the six key principles of: centering, concentration, control, breath, flow, and precision.

The “core” in Pilates is anywhere from above the knees to the ribs!  At Breathe we also include strengthening of the shoulders, arms, and back in our classes to ensure our students are strong and balanced.

Pilates is beneficial for beginners looking to gain strength and stability, as well as for more serious athletes looking to find better core strength to enhance other activities.  Pilates moves can be modified to meet each student’s fitness level and needs.

 Where/How Do I Sign Up?

At Breathe we currently offer Pilates mat classes several days a week. See our schedule for days and times. Private sessions are also available. Walk-in classes are $10.00.
