A recent transplant to Morganton, Emily is excited to be part of the yoga community here. She began practicing yoga in 1991. Little did she know that what started out as a great form of exercise would turn into a spiritual and life-changing journey.
Emily became an instructor in 2009, studying with Kristin Gulak-Cooper from Wilmington Yoga Center. Since then she’s been teaching non-stop in Charlotte, NC. Her passion is Vinyasa which, to her, is about freedom of movement, freedom from mind-chatter, creative sequencing, and just plain fun. Emily finds that the practice reduces physical and mental tension and increases the ability to stay present, all with a beautiful combination of movement, stillness, and breath.
In addition to a physical workout, Emily’s students can expect an uplifting thought/story/theme, support in the form of positive language, cueing, physical assists, and most importantly, love and fun.
Outside of class, Emily enjoy nature, running and hiking. An avid animal lover, she spends time with her cats and foster kittens and is always reading at least two books at a time.
