Prana, or vital life force, is the Sanskrit word for the energy that permeates everything in the universe. A runner can better harness his (or her!) breath in ways that shift awareness within by withdrawing the prana into the spine and brain, where he then experiences higher levels of consciousness. When translated to running, prana consciousness delivers lift, tone, direction, and power.

Yoga Family Pot Luck!

On Friday, April 10 After Peggy's first Happy Hour Friday evening yoga class (5:30-6:45) we’ll pull some tables into the studio and lay out a late-dinner healthy spread brought by our own yoga family around 7pm! Get to know that person a little better who's right next to you on the mat. Bring your own chair or sit on bolsters - be comfy.

Girls Empowerment Summit - May 9th

This event is designed for 7th -12th grade girls in Burke County. It'll be an awesome day full of real talk, fun workshops, and strong positive role models. The Girls Empowerment Summit, organized by Strategic Alliance for Burke Youth, will include yoga, self-esteem, dance, health and nutrition, relationships, body image and bullying workshops. The event is planned for Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 10am to 3pm at Draughn High School in Valdese, NC. Girls may register at burkegirlssummit.eventbrite.com.
